Isochronous is an experimental indie-rock band from Pretoria, South Africa. Beginning in late 2006, they’ve become South Africa’s leading prog-rock band. Dynamic and innovative, the band defies definition, drawing its influences from a diverse range of bands including Mew, Muse, Jeff Buckley, Death Cab for Cutie and The Mars Volta, as well as composers like Hans Zimmer, Debussy, Victor Wooten and Dennis Chambers.

Featuring kidofdoom’s Richard Brokensha on guitars, Alex Parker on keyboards, Marko Benini on Drums and Franco Schoeman and bass, each member contributes to vocals as well. Playing at Oppikoppi Festival 2008, the band has released two albums, their self-titled debut, Isochronous, which was distributed through Sony Records, and Imago, a highly-anticipated and well-received acoustic album that was recorded at Sound and Motion Studios in Cape Town by Lark’s Simon ‘Fuzzy’ Ratcliffe.

Having toured South Africa extensively with their captivating live performances, Isochronous’ third album, Inscape, is slated for an early 2011 release, with a live DVD to follow. The band also has plans to tour Australia in 2011.
