Machineri
Daniel Huxham, Andre Geldenhuys, Sannie Fox
Machineri is a 3-piece band consisting of two American Fender Stratocasters (Sannie Fox and Andre Geldenhuys), drum (Daniel Huxham) and lead vocal (Sannie). The sound is predominantly Blues-Rock as well as distorted, layered and riff-driven. Some influences include John Lee Hooker, Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin, The Black Keys, Jimi Hendrix, Chopin, Ali Farka Toure, Paganini …and many Many MANY MORE.
The band is in the process of recording their debut album. Sannie writes the songs and lyrics while the task of arranging as well as instrumentation is undertaken by herself and Andre. The song is then worked in the jam room and further explored with drums as well as extremely loud volumes before it is either recorded or performed for any audience. All demo recordings as well as backing tracks are engineered and recorded by Sannie. Final audio is engineered and recorded by Paris Lucas at Fish Hoek Studios.
Machineri has recorded two singles, "The Searchers" (inspired by the John Ford cowboy epic starring John Wayne) and "Machine I Am", as well as two accompanying music videos directed and produced by Sannie’s mother Revel Fox and edited by Robin Kress.
Tracks by Machineri have been used in the score for the 2010 feature film Long Street, starring Sannie Fox and iconic singer Busi Mhlongo, and directed by Revel Fox.
